Who are we?
The founding directors of the Virginia Classical Music Foundation are:
(L-R) Allen Hench, Alison Wiley, Eric Brandt, Julie Fowler and Steve Myers
What do we do?
We are an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation which encourages the broadcast and performance of classical music in Virginia.
One of our current projects is to create a much-needed public radio station, based in Charlottesville to broadcast classical music and international news, and to promote the University of Virginia’s many departments, lecture series, and arts events. Additionally, we aim to provide a broadcast platform to showcase the historic national heritage which resides in our beautiful countryside - at the important sites of America’s early history. The proposed new service is intended to present excellent programs on a modest budget. We hope this will be the first radio station in a statewide public radio network.
